"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt......If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."

--Thomas Jefferson, 1798, after the passage of the Sedition Act.

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright  moron."

 H.L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

We are having a number of pro John KERRY / John EDWARDS events at our house (unless otherwise specified) if you are interested.
  • October 27 - Har Zion, Berkowitz Auditorium Hebrew High School Q&A, 6:30pm.

  • November 2 - CelebrateOnce you are done voting and volunteering, come on over and watch as John Kerry is declared our next president.

If the Western swing states need help we might do some phone calls to Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, ... and encourage people to vote.

Otherwise, we will watch the election returns come in on my projection tv. I've got wireless internet if you want to bring your laptop. Bring something to nosh on, this is likely to be an all-nighter!

Also, see my old list of events, and the list of National Jewish Democratic Council's Philadelphia Chapter Events.

Remember: Regime change begins at home!

Also see the NJDC's Philadelphia Chapter's Reading List.

Please house volunteers

We will have at least 45 undergraduates in town from Bard College in Annandale, New York, to help Get Out The Vote for John Kerry. The campaign is bussing them in, and taking care of transporting them around and feeding them. They will bring every thing they need (sleeping bags, pillows, towels, etc.). All we are asking for is some floor space where they can sleep. In exchange, you get a better president! What a deal!

If you can put up a group of them, please contact:
