OPPENHEIMER Family Tree

Jakob (Jack) OPPENHEIMER (b. September 2, 1890 Hemsbach, d. September 17, 1959, buried at Oak Woods Cemetery, 67th St and Woodlawn, Chicago). Jack immigrated to Kansas City from Germany 1905, and moved to Chicago in 1921.

Jack married 1923 Mabel SOLOMON (b. July 14, 1890, d. January 21, 1952) aunt of Jerry POLLAK jandmpollak at aol.com.
Jack was regional sales manager for American Chicklets (chewing gum).

Jack and Mabel had two sons Robert (Bobby) and Edward:

• Robert Leonard OPPENHEIMER (Bobby) (b. 13 May 1925, d. 7 October 1992 (Yom Kippor) Miami, Florida). Robert was in the carpet business.
  On 21 October 1950, Robert married Maita SHOELSON (b. 1 Jan. 1929).
  • Leslie Merle OPPENHEIMER (b. 29 May 1953) Ltaheri@dominickanddominick.com   (assistant stock broker with Credit Suisse/First Boston in Miami) married Mansour (Mike) TAHERI (b. 28 August 1949 Teheran, Iran). Mike is an electrical engineer. He came to the US in Feb of 1972 on a student visa, met Leslie and the rest shall we say, is history. He became a US citizen in March of 1982. They lived in Iran for one year from 1977-78 and left just before the revolution. They returns for a visit in 1999. Thanks to Leslie for information about this branch of the family.
    • Dr. Adrienne Mina TAHERI (b. 5 Jan. 1979) m. (12 Feb. 2005) Jason KINSEY. Adrienne studied at Nova Southeastern University, did her residency at Carilion Medical Center (University of Virginia, Roanoke, Virginia). She is now in private practice in Salem, Virginia.

    • Jordan Yusef TAHERI (b. 7 Aug. 1983) jordan.taheri@gmail.com, doctor of veterinary medicine (University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida). Did equine internship in Clermont, Florida near Orlando. Veterinary Health Officer with the U.S.D.A. living in Lufkin, Texas and working in Nacogdoches, Texas.

    Ross Aaron OPPENHEIMER (b. 14 July 1955) married and divorced Claudia WILSON (b. 29 May 1951, Bon Terre, near St. Louis, Missouri). Ross is a Certified Public Accountant; he took over his father's practice after his father passed away. Claudia, works for BlueCross/Blue Shield in Ft. Lauderdale.
    • Rachel Rebekah OPPENHEIMER (b. 19 April 1985). Ph.D. in psychology from Florida Tech, Melbourne, Florida May 2012. She is a practicing clinical psychologist in Dallas working with autistic children.
    • Whitney Hope OPPENHEIMER (b. 19 Oct. 1989) studied Theatrical Costume Design at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is now working as a costume designer in Los Angeles.
    Ross remararried (9 Feb. 2008) Ana CARDENAS (b. Sullana, Peru). They live in Orlando, Florida where Ross is an accountant.
  • Jeryl Lyn OPPENHEIMER (b. 30 March 1960) married Michael MADFIS (b. 30 March 1958, Boston). Jeryl is an Interior Designer and Michael, is an architect. They have their own small business called the MADFIS Group.
    • Haylee Britten MADFIS (b. 5 May 1990) graduate student at Cornell.
    • Robert Daniel MADFIS (b. 23 Aug. 1993), named after grandfather, studying at Northeastern University in Boston.
