Yekutiel Berdugo

Rabbi Yekutiel Hayyim BERDUGO (b. 1858, d. 1940) was born in Rabat and appointed dayan there in 1893. The French government appointed him in 1922 a member of the supreme bet din (court of appeal) which had its seat in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. In 1934, he deputized for Raphael Ankawa chief Rabbi of Morocco during his illness and he succeeded him after his death In 1935, he was made president of the Supreme bet din. He was succeeded in 1941, by Rabbi Joshua BERDUGO.

Yekutiel had two wives.
